Operations Assessment for Growth
Canadian Charitable Organization
Project Focus Areas
- Context
A Canadian charitable organization that provides moving and storage services to individuals and families fleeing domestic violence wanted to scale their efforts nationally. To support this effort as part of the Cascadia Cares Pro Bono Consulting Program, a team of consultants evaluated the charity’s organizational structure and operational readiness to scale while ensuring sustainable growth and without compromising service quality.
- Our Approach
- Gathered insights on growth barriers, investment priorities, and organizational challenges from interviews with the organization’s leaders.
- Identified critical gaps in core functions (fund development, HR, volunteer services) and recommended stabilization before expansion.
- Proposed quarterly strategy sessions and improved feedback loops to enhance agility.
- Highlighted the need for stronger internal communications and alignment across teams.
- Flagged operational risks associated with rapid scaling and proposed mitigation strategies.
- Outcome
Cascadia provided a roadmap for organizational strengthening, including prioritized actions to stabilize operations and governance. These recommendations informed the charitable organization’s strategic planning and resource allocation for national growth
