ERP & Asset Management Integration for a Small Municipality
Project Focus Areas
- Context
A small Canadian municipality (population under 10,000) selected new ERP and Enterprise Asset Management (EAM) solutions to be implemented in parallel. With limited internal capacity, the municipality faced challenges in defining process boundaries between the two systems and ensuring vendor alignment during implementation. Approach Cascadia designed an overarching system architecture that clarified which functions would sit within the ERP and which within the EAM, reducing overlap and risk of duplication. We worked closely with the vendor team to validate integration points, supported the municipality with data migration and cleansing, and provided project management advisory to ensure milestones, budget, and scope remained on track. Outcome The municipality successfully implemented both ERP and EAM systems with a clear architecture guiding usage. Integration risks were mitigated, staff were supported through data transition, and the municipality gained confidence in managing vendors and implementation challenges.
